Akhil Sachdeva is an Indian singer/songwriter and Bollywood vocalist who launched his career in Delhi, where he served as the frontman of the short-lived band Nasha. His solo career blossomed in 2017, when he wrote and recorded the original songs "Sun Mere Humsafar" and "Humsafar (Reprise)" for the popular Bollywood film Badrinath Ki Dulhania. One of the year's biggest releases in India, Badrinath Ki Dulhania earned Akhil Sachdeva a Zee Cine Award for "Best Playback Singer" and served as a launchpad for his work in the film world, which he continued with his performance of "Nain Na Jodeen (2nd Version)" for the 2018 comedy Badhaai Ho. He released a standalone single, "Gal Sun," that same year, and also contributed the song "Dil Taan Pagal/Je Tu Na" to the album T-Series Mixtape Punjabi. Released in 2019, the box office smash Kabir Singh featured another Akhil Sachdeva composition, "Tera Ban Jaunga." After recording two songs for T-Series Mixtape Punjabi Season 2 later that year, he focused on Bollywood projects and web series appearances throughout 2020, recording songs for the comedy film Jawaani Jaaneman, the horror flick Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship, the Sony TV program Dil Hi Toh Hai, the Hindi drama Bebaakee, and It Happened in Calcutta.
