Alejandro Fernandez is an internationally successful singer who gained fame for performing mostly traditional Mexican folk songs in the ranchera style following in the footsteps of his iconic father Vicente Fernandez. He branched out to include pop songs and romantic ballads in his shows and on record and performed and recorded with many other artists including Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Plácido Domingo, Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias, and Rod Stewart. He has had 26 recordings on Billboard's Top Latin Albums Chart, 45 singles on the Hot Latin Songs and Latin Pop Songs charts with several number 1 hits on all three. He has had nine nominations for Latin Grammy Awards including two wins and three nominations for the Grammy Awards. Born on April 24, 1971, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, he made his live debut in 1976 at one of his father's shows. In 1992, he kicked off a highly successful career with an eponymous album that included the hit singles "Brumas" and "Necesito Olvidarla." He has released many albums since then including the Grammy Award-nominated Me Estoy Enamorando (1997), Entre Tus Brazos (2000), Dos Mundos: Evolución (2010), Confidencias (2013) and Confidences Reales (2014), all of which topped the Top Latin Albums Chart, with Confidencias also reaching the Top 20 on the Billboard 200. His Latin chart-topping singles include "En el Jardín" (1997), "Si Tu Supieras" (1997), "No Sé Olvidar" (1998), "Yo Nací Para Amarte" (1998), "Loco" (1999), "Tantita Pena" (2001), "Me Dediqué a Perderte" (2004) and "Se Me Va la Voz" (2010). His 2017 album Rompiendo Fronteras also went to number 1 on the Latin Chart. Over the following years, Alejandro Fernández continued to pay tribute to his heritage on albums like the Grammy-winning Hecho en México (2020) and collaborating with a new generation of artists such as Alfredo Olivas on the single "Cobijas Ajenas" (2024), which cracked the Top 40 on the Regional Mexican charts.
