Alexander Ludwig is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actor. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on May 7, 1992. Showing a distinct knack for performance throughout his childhood, he soon became involved in acting, first appearing in a Harry Potter toy commercial. Soon after that, he was securing leading roles in television shows and films, including The Hunger Games, Lone Survivor, and Grown Ups 2. In 2012, Alexander Ludwig released his first single as a musician, titled “Liv It Up (Teenage Wasteland).” Over the next few years, he continued appearing on film and television, joining the cast of the television show Vikings. While filming Vikings in Ireland, Alexander Ludwig decided to further hone his songwriting skills, and he started working with Jason Aldean band members Tully Kennedy and Kurt Allison on new music. This process led to the 2020 release of his single “Let Me Be Your Whiskey,” which obtained success on country radio and brought much more attention to his music career. In 2021, after signing to the country music label BBR Music Group / BMG, Alexander Ludwig released his self-titled debut EP. This was followed in 2022 by a full-length album, Highway 99, also produced by Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy.
