Singer and songwriter Aluna Francis was born in Wales on 2 July 1988 to a Jamaican father and an Indian mother. Following her parents' separation, she moved to London with her mother and in 2012 formed the electronic duo AlunaGeorge with producer George Reid. The group hit the ground running with their first commerical single "Your Drums, Your Love," which went and in 2013 were nominated for the Critics' Choice prize at the 2013 BRIT Awards. The following year, they upped their game with hit Disclosure collaboration "White Noise," rocketing to number two on the UK singles chart. Debut album Body Music came in 2013 with its successo, I Remember, emerging in 2016. A number of other singles landed in the years that following, with Aluna Francis branching out as a solo artist in 2020. The dance-focussed Renaissance arrived in August 2020 on Mad Decent and saw her delve into a variety of styles from house and trap to dancehall. In January 2022, she linked with Diplo and Italian producer Durante for the single “Forget About Me," with her second full-length album Mycelium emerging in 2023. The 14-track LP was marked out by a cache of collaborations including "Killing Me" with TSHA and "Mine O' Mine" with Jayda G.
