Mandopop singer and actress Amber Kuo was born Amber Kuo Tsai-chieh (on February 19, 1986 in Taipei, Taiwan. Kuo made her debut in three music videos in 2006: Tank’s “When We Were Young”, and Stephanie Sun’s “Rainy Day” and “Dream of the Sky”. In 2007, she appeared as herself in the television series Real’s Music & Love Story. Signing with Warner Music, she released her debut album Invisible Superman in 2007. Kuo then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work from National Taipei University in 2008. Kuo’s acting career began to pick up steam as she began to act in film and television alongside with continuing her music career. In 2009, she released her second album, I Amber, and collaborated with Nicholas Teo on the song “This Is Love”. In 2010, she was nominated for Best Actress at the 45th Golden Bell awards for her role in the film The Happy Times of That Year. She was honored with the Best New Talent Award at the 12th Taipei Film Festival that same year. In June , 2010, Kuo released her third album, Sparklers. Her next album, Here, There, and Everywhere, was released in 2012. Her fifth album, Begin Again, was issued in 2015. She began to focus more on her movie career, appearing in the Tiny Times series and many others.
