Born on June 7, 1993, in Telangana, India, Anurag Kulkarni is Telegu cinema (Tollywood) playback singer who is also known as the winner of Season 8 of the televised Telugu talent competition show Idea Super Singer in 2015. Singing since he was a child, his household was very religious, which influenced the direction of his music. Initially influenced by Hindu devotional music performed by Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, he trained under Hindustani vocalist and guru Pandit Kakunoori Jangaiah. Anurag Kulkarni performed at high-profile live engagements and became a contestant on many televised talent shows including Saptaswaralu (2008), Bol Baby Bol Gurukul (2014), and Idea Super Singer (2015), in which he came in first place. Anurag Kulkarni began his playback singing career in 2015 with the song “Manasuna”, which was featured in the film Jagannatakam. He’s provided playback vocals to close to 100 films since then including popular tracks such as “Miss Sunshine” (from 2017’s Lie), “Pillaa Raa” (from 2018’s RX 100), “Ramuloo Ramulaa” (from 2020’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo), and “Naanga Vera Maari” (from 2021’s Valimai).
