Born on February 1, 1994, in Narasaraopet, Andhra Pradesh, India, Ramya Behara is a Bollywood and Tollywood playback singer. She works predominantly in Telugu cinema (Tollywood) but she also sings in other languages including Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Growing up in Hyderabad, India, she became interested in singing when she was in seventh grade. She attended Little Music Academy, training under playback singer, composer, and educator Ramachary (real name: Komanduri Ramachari). Ramya Behara’s first playback performance was in the Telugu film Vengamamba (2009). Since then, she has recorded more than 600 songs, the most popular being “Dhivara” (from the 2015 Telugu film Baahubali: The Beginning). Ramya Behara remains a prolific playback singer, providing her voice to three songs on the Telugu release of Frozen II. In 2021, she scored another big hit with “Neelambari” (from the action film Acharya. The song was streamed over 15 million times in the first month of release.
