Arma Jackson, real name Jordan Mfumu-Kanda Dhi, is a Swiss rapper, composer and beatmaker born in Lausanne on January 23, 1995. Influenced by his two older brothers, he took up breakdancing and rap as a teenager, writing his first lyrics under the pseudonym Arma, short for Armafricaine. In 2017, he emerged on the French-language music scene with his first EP, 9m2, conceived entirely in home-studio and released on Youssoupha's Bomayé Music label. This was followed in 2019 by Capsules, including tracks such as Vite, Vide and Vibe. His reputation grows when Omar Sy expresses his admiration for him on a TV show. His debut album, Idéal, is released in June 2021, preceded by the singles Distance, in collaboration with Tayc, and Comme d'habitude. On it, Arma Jackson develops a hybrid style, fusing hip-hop, pop, RnB, French chanson and African sounds, with Californian, neo-soul and house influences. In 2021, he declares: "My roots are inevitably felt in my songs. What I like most of all is mixing genres and styles." In 2024, he returns with the album Été sans fin, introduced by the single Voyager, featuring Franglish. Rapper Josman also contributes to this opus on the track BBL.
