Country music singer and songwriter Ashley Cooke was born in Parkland, Florida on June 12, 1997. Her family moved more than a dozen times during her first 18 years, and she discovered music was a way to deal with the constant upheavals in her life. Inspired by Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, and Rascal Flatts, she began writing songs at the age of 11. When she was 18, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she attended Belmont University. Although she did not study music while attending college, she decided to enter the school’s Country Showcase competition and won the contest. Ashley Cooke then decided to pursue music as a career but was briefly derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of playing live, she decided to turn to social media and share her music with her fanbase. She became a sensation on several social media platforms and released several singles in 2020 and 2021 including “Jealous of the Sky,” “Sunday Morning Kinda Saturday Night,” “Good Goodbye” with Jimmie Allen, and “The Bullet” with Derek Austin. Ashley Cooke released her debut album, Already Drank That Beer, in 2022. The album included the Top 50 single “Never Til Now,” a duet with country singer Brett Young. Already Drank That Beer was a success and brought her to the attention of a wider audience. She signed with the Big Loud label and released the album Shot in the Dark in December 2023. The full-length included the singles “Your Place,” “It’s Been a Year,” “What Are You On Fire About” featuring Jackson Dean, and the title track.
