Black Pistol Fire is a Canadian-born alternative rock duo. Band members Kevin McKeown (guitar/vocals) and Eric Owen (drums) became friends in kindergarten but didn’t start playing in a band together until they were in high school. Their musical style blended southern rock, blues, garage rock, and rhythm & blues. Black Pistol Fire released their self-titled debut album in 2011. The album featured “Suffocation Blues”, one of their best-known tracks. As the band’s fanbase continued to grow, they relocated to Austin, Texas. Their albums – including Big Beat ’59 (2012), Hush or Howl (2014), and Don’t Wake the Riot (2016) – earned the band critical acclaim. Their fifth album, Deadbeat Graffiti (2017) featured two tracks that achieved heavy airplay in Canada: “Lost Cause” and “Bully”.
