Black T Igwe

Eric Yaw Otu, better known as Black T Igwe, was born in Accra, Ghana. Although he showed a passion for music from an early age, he did not have the support of his parents, who took a dim view of his desire to break into the music industry. From 2002 onwards, he spent two years in the studios of Andigo Music Production, training in music engineering. Then, back in his native Lomé, he joined the Dodo Production studio team and released his first single, "Alonmé mano". This made quite an impact, prompting artists such as Wedy and Most Wanted to ask him to collaborate. Returning to Ghana in 2006 to perfect his musical engineering skills, he returned four years later and released a new track, "Alognedzi", which became an instant hit. He then set up his own studio, Black Music Production, and produced hits for a number of artists, including Yaovi Kheteti, Boris Ket and Etaneblex. After the 8-track album Boto, released in 2019 with collaborations from Etaneblex, Luzy, R Queeny, and King Mensah, he released numerous tracks in the following years, including "It's Over" with Bisa Kdei in 2021, "M'lagbe" or "Humm Humm " with Shado Chris in 2022, and "Ma dudu" or "Okou" in 2023.
