Jazz pianist Bojan Zulfikarpasic was born in Belgrade in 1968. He won Best Young Jazz Musician of Yugoslavia in 1989 before relocating to France to kickstart his intended career. He recorded his debut album, 'Bojan Z Quartet', in 1993 followed by 'Yopla!' in 1995 and 'Koreni', a collaborative effort with Vlatko Stefanovski, Kudsi Erguner and Karim Ziad, in 1999. 'Solobsession', a solo piano album, was released in 2001 earning him a reputation in the jazz community. He teamed up with Nasheet Waits and Scott Colley for 'Transpacifik' in 2003 and with Ari Hoenig and Ben Perowsky for 'Xenophobia' in 2006. He released 'Humus' in 2010 and 'Soul Shelter' in 2012 before collaborating with Julien Lourau in 2014 on 'Le Duo' and with Nils Wogram in 2016 on 'Housewarming'.
