Boom Desjardins, real name Daniel Desjardins, is a Quebec singer born on June 16, 1971 in Val-d'Or, in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region. He formed the group La Chicane in 1993 with Alain Villeneuve. He remained a member of this group, with radio hits such as "Calvaire" and "Juste pour voir le monde", until 2004, when he embarked on a solo career. His first solo album, Boom Desjardins, was produced by Aerosmith collaborator John Webster. It featured several radio singles, including "Dieu", "Pour te Voir" and "J'Reviens Chez Nous". Boom Desjardins was nominated for Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year at the 2006 Juno Awards. The following year, the Abitibi singer toured extensively and decided to record a live album Au nom de la musique. In 2008, he released his 2nd album On se ressemble, the song "Un Peu Pressé" being a hit and remaining at the top of the Quebec radio charts for 9 weeks. A year later, he returned to the studio, this time to revisit some fifteen songs that marked his adolescence and young adulthood with the album Rock le Québec . In 2011, he returns with Avec le Temps. After a 5-year break, he returned in 2016 with a country-folk album entitled Clandestin.
