Martin Deschamps

Born on June 23, 1970 in Montreal (Canada), Martin Deschamps is a rock singer from Quebec. His career began in 1996, when he won the title of best singer in the Empire of Future Stars competition. Following this performance, he was recruited to sing with the group Offenbach in 1997 and 1998. In 2000, he released his first solo album, Comme Je Suis , and placed three of its songs in the top 5 of Quebec radio charts: " Casanova ", " Comme je suis " and " Quand? On October 9, 2001, his show at Montreal's Spectrum was recorded for the live album Différent , released at the end of the month. In addition to the hits from his first opus, he sings well-known covers such as Adamo's " C'est ma vie ", Offenbach's " Mes blues passent pu dans porte ", Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes' " Up Where We Belong ", and AC/DC's " Back in Black ". In 2003, he released the album Le Désert, featuring the hit song " Vérité ". In 2005, Offenbach called on Martin Deschamps for the Nature - Offenbach project , in which the band covered twelve songs with acoustic instrumentation. In 2008, he conceived the opus Le Piano Et la Voix , in which he is accompanied on each track by a different pianist. That same year, he performed at the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Paralympic Games. In 2011, he sings in Toronto at the funeral of the late NDP leader Jack Layton, who indicates this choice in his last will and testament. In 2013, he duets with Breen Leboeuf for a concert tour, and they release the album Leboeuf Deschamps in 2015. In 2017, he released Soulshine , an opus in which he covered several well-known hits in acoustic format. In 2019, nearly 20 years after his first solo album, he offers his greatest hits revisited as a duet with, among others, Florence K, Damien Robitaille, Éric Lapointe, Patrick Normand and Daniel Boucher on Comme Je Suis 2020 .
