Célia Oneto Bensaid

French pianist Célia Oneto Bensaid was born in Paris on September 19, 1992, and is the winner of several competitions. Trained on the instrument since the age of six, she entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2010, studying with Claire Désert, Anne Le Bozec and Jean-Frédéric Neuberger. She also takes classes with Rena Cherechevskaïa at the École normale Alfred Cortot. Laureate of the Cziffra Foundation in 2013, she won 3rd prize at the Gabriel Fauré International Competition (2014), 2nd prize from Sacem and the Henri Dutilleux special prize at the Piano Campus Competition (2015) and the melody prize with Marie-Laure Garnier at the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Competition (2017), among other competitions. After a first recital devoted to Gershwin and Bernstein, American Touches (2018), awarded the Prix André Boisseaux, the pianist collaborates on the contemporary chamber music program around Camille Pépin, with Ensemble Polygones and cellist Raphaëlle Moreau, whom she reunites in 2023 on the album Duelles. Meanwhile, in 2022, she turns her attention to the little-known works of Marie Jaëll and accompanies actress Elsa Lepoivre in a children's album dedicated to Clara Schumann. Célia Oneto Bensaîd is the pianist of choice for the series launched by the La Boîte à Pépites label, focusing on the rediscovery of French women composers, and contributes to the collections devoted to Charlotte Sohy, Jeanne Leleu and Rita Strohl. In 2024, the album Sparklight, shared between Marie Jaëll and Franz Liszt, sees her perform under the direction of Debora Waldman at the head of the Orchestre national Avignon-Provence.
