Chantal Pary

Born Lucie Bernier on December 17, 1950 in Longueuil (Canada), Chantal Pary is a pop singer from Quebec. Her career began at the age of 15 in cabarets in the Laurentian region of Quebec. She scored her first hit with the single " L'Amour est passé " in 1968. She was voted revelation of the year at the Gala des artistes in 1969. In January 1970, she opened for singer Sacha Distel at Place des Arts in Montreal (Canada). During the 1970s, Chantal Pary scored several number-one hits on the Quebec charts, including " Ma Vie, c'est toi " (1971, #1 for 6 weeks), " Pour vivre ensemble " (1971, #1 for 4 weeks), " Emmanuella " (1973, #1 for 5 weeks), " Ma Mélodie d'amour " (1974, #1 for 6 weeks), " Mélanie " (1975, #1 for 5 weeks) and " Un Homme ne doit pas pleurer " (1979, #1 for 3 weeks). After a short hiatus in the early 1980s, Chantal Pary returned to success with the album J'Suis Ton Amie , which won her the Félix award for best-selling album in 1982. In 1995, she met singer Carl William, with whom she pursued her career until 2006. In 2011, she goes on tour with the show Le Retour de nos idoles, featuring Quebec and French stars from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The following year, she toured with singer Claude Barzotti.
