Christian Lais (born June 7, 1963 in Lörrach) is a pop and folk musician from Germany. The artist pursued a musical career early on and took part in numerous talent competitions at a young age. At the beginning of the 2000s, Christian Lais was signed to a record deal. The singer draws attention to himself with songs together with other pop singers. In 2008, Christian Lais released his debut album Mein Weg. With the single "Sie vergaß zu verzeih'n", the singer reaches number 67 in the German charts. After the album Ich bin ich (2009), Christian Lais made it into the German album charts with his third longplayer Atemlos in 2010, reaching number 87. The collaboration with singer Ute Freudenberg made Christian Lais a household name in Germany. The joint album Ungeteilt climbed to number 14 in the German charts in 2011 and achieved gold status. This was followed by three more successful albums with Ute Freudenberg, Spuren von uns (2013), Lebenslinien (2016) and the compilation Best of Freudenberg & Lais (2017). Christian Lais then devoted himself increasingly to his solo career. With the albums Das Leben ist live (2018) and Laut & Lais (2020), the singer regularly places in the top 40 of the German charts. Another longplayer, Anders, followed in 2023. Christian Lais also made it to 38th place in the German album charts. At the end of September 2024, Christian Lais releases another studio album, Lais 2.0.
