The German pop singer Nino De Angelo was born Domenico Gorgoglione in Karlsruhe in 1983 and is of Italian descent. He rose to fame with the release of his 1983 hit 'Jenseits Von Eden' which topped the German charts for ten weeks. The track, which was written by Christopher Ironside and Drafi Deutscher, had a second lease of life when an Italian language version recorded by Gorgoglione also reached number one in the French charts, a position it held for five weeks. The following year a version titled 'Guardian Angel' was a minor hit in the UK charts. Gorgoglione released a series of hit albums and singles throughout the '80s culminating in a Eurovison Song Contest entry in 1989 with 'Flieger' which earned him 14th placed in the competition. During the late '90s a collaboration with the German eurodance band Mr. President brought a brief resurgence of interest for the artist with the track 'Olympic Games' which appeared on their critically-acclaimed album 'We See the Same Sun' released in 1996. During a career spanning more than three decades Gorgoglione has recorded more than 20 albums.
