Claude Bégin

Canadian pop singer and rapper Claude Bégin made a name for himself in several groups before embarking on a solo career. Originally from Quebec, where he was born on December 15, 1983, he joined the rap duo Accrophone in 1993 with Emmanuel Lajoie-Blouin aka Eman, with whom he recorded three albums between 2005 and 2010. Invited by Karim Ouellet to take part in the short-lived Movèzerbe project on his album Dendrophile (2009) and his album Leçon d'Amour Étrange (2009), Claude Bégin reunites with Enam in the Alaclaire Ensemble collective, which has been recording since 2010. In 2015, the Quebec rapper took a pop turn with his first solo album, Les Magiciens, released by Coyote Records, as did his next, which he composed and produced entirely, Bleu Nuit (2018), featuring contributions from Marie-Mai, Laurence Nerbonne, Clodelle Lemay, Sylvie Morin and Enam, where the duo Accrophone reformed for the track "Sans téléphone". Claude Bégin appeared on the TV series District 31 in 2018 and on the reality show Big Brother Célébrités in 2021, and that same year took part in the song "J'oubliais" alongside Maxime Landry and Jean-François Guevremont, aka drag queen Rita Baga. 2022 sees the release of the single "Les Avions de Mirabel", ranked #48 on the Canadian Adult Contemporary Billboard chart.
