Born Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson on 23 February 1996 in Dubin, Ireland, CMAT is an award-winning Irish singer with a unique handle on country, folk, pop, and humour. She released her debut album If My Wife New I'd Be Dead in February 2022 and claimed the top spot on the Irish Albums Chart while also winning Ireland's Choice Music Prize for Album of the Year. The LP yielded a hit single in "Peter Bogdanovich," which went to number 20 on the Irish Homegrown Top 20. She released the critically acclaimed follow-up Crazymad, for Me in October 2023, which featured a guest appearance from John Grant on "Where Are Your Kids Tonight?" and was produced by Norwegian producer Matias Tellez.
