Confidence Man

Hailing from several different groups including The Belligerents and The Jungle Giants, Australian electro-poppers Confidence Man formed in 2016 after first crossing paths on the Brisbane music scene. Steered by singing and dancing front-duo Grace Stephenson aka Janet Planet and Aidan Moore aka Sugar Bones, mask-wearing band members Lewis Stephenson aka Reggie Goodchild and Sam Hales aka Clarence McGuffie brought an instrumental touch to the proceedings with keyboards and drums. In 2017, the band signed to UK indie staple Heavenly Records and dropped their debut UK single, "Bubblegum", in March that year. A debut album came in 2018, Confident Music for Confident People, which earned them accolades across the board as well as the Best Independent Dance/Electronica Album gong at Australia's prestigious AIR Awards of 2019. They marked 2020 and 2021 with standalone singles, "First Class Bitch" and "Holiday", respectively, before teasing their second album with a trio of singles in 2021: "Feels Like a Different Thing", "Woman" and "Luvin U is Easy". Confidence Man's second full-length album, Tilt, was released in 2022 and saw the band channel an early 1990s dance and dance-pop sound that earned them the Best Independent Dance or Electronica Album or EP gong at the AIR Awards of 2023. In 2024, they rolled out their third album 3AM (La La La), which was supported by the lead single "I Can't Lose You."
