Cool Fawa

Singer and rapper Princia Plisson was born in Bangui, Central African Republic, on May 8, 1995. Her stage name, Cool Fawa, simply means "Cool Girl". Inspired by Diam's, and wanting to shake up the overly masculine Central African rap scene, she began rapping in 2010. She joined various groups, including MC Fonctionnaire. She made a name for herself with a single in 2014, participating in the single "Jenny", where she plays the role of a woman braving macho society. The collaboration lasted a few years, before she launched her solo project. Committed to women's causes, she turns to Afro-beat and zouk love sounds, because rap, especially sung by a woman, is very much frowned upon in her country, and her message is close to her heart. In 2018, she released "On va se marier", which racked up 50,000 views on YouTube in just a few weeks. In 2021, she scored a hit with the single "Validé". In 2022, she decided to set up her own label, Cool Fawa Music, an association to record and promote Central African culture in Africa and internationally. The same year, she released a string of singles, "Merci Maman", "Cocorico" and "No Time".
