Author, composer and slammer Dolly Sorel Nwafo, aka Lydol, was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on September 15, 1994. Lydol has had a passion for writing since childhood, and discovered poetry in her teens. In 2009, she took part in a singing competition, Challenge Vacances, in the karaoke category, reaching the semi-finals. The following year, she won the competition in the slam category. She went on to represent Cameroon at the Spoken Word Project in Angola, and took part in the Poetry Africa Festival in South Africa and the Printemps des Poètes in France. Already spotted on the slam scene, in 2016 her success exploded thanks to her participation in L'Afrique a un Incroyable Talent. In 2018, Lydol released her debut album, Slamthérapie, from which "Le Ndem", and "Amina" are taken. Lydol sings in many languages, Camfranglais, French, English, German or even Bamiléké, and tackles her fears, her dreams. Very involved in slam, she runs various workshops with teenagers and performs on stage all over Africa. Her second album, Hybride, was released in 2022. It featured a number of featurings, which served as singles. One with her partner Cysoul for the track "Ndolo bébé", whose video clip exceeded half a million views a few weeks after its release, and the second with Aveiro Djess for "Bongo bongo".
