dArtagnan

The German folk-rock band dArtagnan was founded in Nuremberg in 2015 by singer and multi-instrumentalist Ben Metzner and guitarists Felix Fischer and Tim Bernard. The band is named after one of the three musketeers. Their debut album Seit an Seit (2016) reached number 7 in the German charts. They were awarded a gold record for the LP in 2017. In the same year, the band was named Newcomer of the Year at the pop and folk music event Das Große Fest der Besten. The second album Verehrt und verdammt (2017) is the last album with founding member Felix Fischer. He is replaced by violinist Gustavo Strauss. At the end of 2018, the advance single "Flucht nach vorn" announced the third album In jener Nacht. The album cracked the top 5 of the German charts for the first time. With the 2021 album Feuer & Flamme, dArtagnan build on their previous successes in Germany. In Austria (16th place) and Switzerland (22nd place), the band reaches its highest chart positions to date. The hero edition of the album also contains seven bonus reinterpretations of well-known pop classics, including David Bowie's top hit "Heroes" and Udo Jürgen's "Griechischer Wein" in typical dArtagnan guise. The album Felsenfest follows in 2022. The album climbs to number 5 in Germany and also reaches the top 20 in the charts in Austria and Switzerland. In July 2024, dArtagnan released their sixth studio album Herzblut. At number 3, it achieves its highest chart position in Germany to date. In Switzerland, the album climbs to number 16.
