Dennis DJ became interested in the world of music production when he started working at a community radio station aged 15. He began performing in the funk carioca style, and recording with various MCs in Rio de Janeiro. He joined the collective Furacao 2000 and through them, the group Bonde do Tigrao, with whom he had his first hit single as producer with the song 'Cerol na Mao'. He stayed with Furacao 2000 until 2003, when he developed his own production team, Som do Galerao, with whom he set up a record label, radio show and recording studios. He went on to write and produce dozens of tracks in collaboration with several MCs such as MC K9, MC Marcinho, MC Neblina and MC Marcelly. As a producer, he has had funk carioca hits such as MC Serginho Lacraia's 'Vai Lacraia' in 2003, and MC Naldinho's 'Um Tapinha Nâo Dói' in 2004. He has also had success with hip-hop/rap hits such as Bronde da Stronde's 'Mansao Thug Stronda' in 2009. As a writer, Dennis DJ has been involved with several hit records, including his single 'Diva' (2013) with MC Marcinho and MC K9. His album 'Baile do Dennis' (2015) features singles 'Quando o DJ Mandar' (2016) with MC Tarapi and MC Neblina and 'Lindona' (2016) with MC Guimê, MC Bola and MC Nego do Bovel.
