Destroy Lonely

Bobby Wardel Sandimanie III, more popularly known by his stage name Destroy Lonely, is an American rapper who was born on July 30, 2001, in Atlanta, Georgia. As the son of rapper I-20, he chose at a young age to pursue the same path as his father, honing his freestyle skills and recording his initial verses by the age of 14. It was also during this time that he met his future collaborators, Texaco and Nezzus, at school. In 2019, Destroy Lonely released the track "Bane" which garnered attention and marked the beginning of his professional career. In the same year, he released his first mixtape, Darkhorse, which was then followed by Underworld in 2020. His third mixtape, </3, released in 2020 as well, managed to capture the interest of famed rapper Playboi Carti. This eventually led to Destroy Lonely signing with Carti's label, Opium, under Interscope Records and Ingrooves in 2021. Subsequently, Destroy Lonely made appearances in Playboi Carti's music videos and collaborated on several projects with Ken Carson. In 2022, he released his fifth mixtape, No Stylist, and also performed at the Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash, in addition to collaborating with fellow rappers Bktherula and Slump6s. Destroy Lonely debuted his full-length studio album, If Looks Could Kill, in May 2023, which garnered acclaim from publications such as Rolling Stone for its distinct aesthetic and compelling instrumentals. The album made its debut at Number 18 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The following year, his second album Love Lasts Forever, featuring guest appearances from Lil Uzi Vert and Ken Carson, improved on that with a 10th-place finish on the US chart.
