The German record producer, singer song writer and TV personality Dieter Bohlen is a towering figure in the German business and is often referred to in the press as a 'pop-Titan'. After finishing his university studies with a degree in business administration he began writing songs for the Hamburg label Intersong before moving to the giant Hansa label in Hamburg in 1980. He rose to prominence as a performer when he formed the duo Modern Talking with Thomas Anders. After enjoying five consecutive number ones the duo parted ways and Bohlen began his solo project Blue System. During his career Bohlen has been involved in the production of more than 20 number one singles in Germany and worked with artists such as Engelbert Humperdinck, Chris Norman (Smokey), Les McKeown (Bay City Rollers) and many others. His success as a producer has helped him amass a personal fortune and he has become one of the most powerful and influential figures in the European music business. Outside of music his business interests include a clothing brand, a book publishing business and he has even launched a range of wallpapers.
