Through the tabloid headlines and the moral panic that surrounded the rise of the UK drill scene, South London MC DigDat emerged full of sharp put-downs and funny, swaggering freestyles, and announced himself as a major young talent when his huge breakthrough hit 'Airforce' landed in 2018. Originally part of the 814 crew, DigDat grew up in Lewisham, South London and came to attention when he featured on Headie One's track 'Back 2 Back' from his mixtape 'The One Two' before his singles 'Sales & Joints' and 'Tactics' were underground favourites dripping with cocksure bravado, tall tales and bars that referenced Premier League football stars. He also caused waves when he exchanged rhymes with Unknown T on Kenny Allstar's popular BBC 1Xtra residency, before a remix featuring Krept & Konan and K Trap, helped his swaggering CZR Beats-produced single 'Airforce' notch up over 15 million views on YouTube and become the first drill track to reach the UK top 20. Praised for his inventive, cheeky wordplay and chilly, sparse beats, DigDat managed to keep a low profile and avoid the feuds and controversy that blighted many of peers, and he returned in 2019 when he collaborated with fellow drill wonder kid Loski on the woozy, languid banger 'No Cap'.
