DJ Abdel introduced the French rap and R&B generation to soul funk. First appearing alongside French hip-hop legends Dee Nasty and then Cut Killer, DJ Abdel quickly made a big name for himself. He began in 2000 with the R&B 2000 International and Hip Hop Soul Party, Episode IV compilations, before hitting the big time with A l'Ancienne in 2001, which brought Delegation and Shalamar back into the spotlight. In addition to compilations and DJ sets, DJ Abdel also produced soundtracks for shows by Jamel Debouze and Danny Boon, the animated series Funky Cops, and films such as La Squale and Bab El Web. In 2002, DJ Abdel launched a new series with Total RNB, followed by A l'Ancienne II, which uses the same ingredients as the first volume. Also a producer, DJ Abdel released "Funk You " with Mister You in 2011.
