A self-taught composer and musician born in Lebanon in 1964, Dominique Dalcan made a name for himself with the orchestrations and subtle melodies on his first two albums, Entre l'Étoile et le Carré (1992) and Cannibale (1994). The latter, supported by the tracks "Le Danseur de Java " and "Brian", was made with arrangers and producers David Whitaker and Bertrand Burgalat. His next album, Ostinato (1998), was inspired by Brazilian influences, and saw him collaborate with Clare Fischer. In the meantime, this worthy ambassador of elegant French pop took on the name Snooze, under which he recorded the electro albums The Man in the Shadow (1997), Goingmobile (2001) and Americana (2005). Busy with commissions for television and cinema (he wrote the soundtrack for the film Ma vie en rose), Dominique Dalcan filled the compilation Music Hall (2006) with previously unreleased tracks, and returned to song with the album Hirundo (2014). A new project, Temperance, a blend of pop and minimalist electro, blossomed in 2017.
