Between 1978 and 1997, Dorothée's programs for young people were veritable social phenomena, so much so that she became the embodiment of a whole generation's childhood memories. Starting out as a radio announcer, Dorothée was entrusted with the Récré A2 show in 1978, marking the start of a twenty-year hold on youngsters, culminating in Club Dorothée 's 80% audience share from 1987 onwards. Dorothée also became a singer, regularly filling the Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy. Dorothée Bercy 93 is representative of her audience's enthusiasm for her singing talents. Her comeback in 2010 is supported by her new album Dorothée 2010 and a show at the Olympia that has been transformed into a DVD.
