Dorothy Little Happy is a J-pop music group formed in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. The project kicked off in 2010 under Stepone's model talent agency and Otodama Records. The group experienced various lineup changes over the years and was at a time considered a solo project led by Mari Takahashi after Kana Shirato's departure in 2017. They made their debut with the single "Jump!" in August 2010, setting the stage for a series of releases that saw a steady climb in popularity and chart performance. Their first album Demo Sayonara was released in March 2011, but it was the 2012 reissue, Demo Sayonara 2012, that first charted, reaching number 153 on the Oricon charts. This upward trajectory continued with subsequent albums, notably Life Goes On (2013) and Starting Over (2014), the latter reaching an impressive number 9 in their native Japan. Dorothy Little Happy's singles also charted well, with "HAPPY DAYS!" in 2012 and "Colorful Life" in 2013, showcasing their growing success. Their highest-charting single, "ASIAN Stone," released in October 2013, peaked at number 7. In 2015, the group's ability to consistently produce chart-topping music culminated in the release of the compilation album The Best of Dorothy Little Happy (2010-2015). They kept releasing singles after this, such as the 2017 release of "For You / Demo Sayonara (2017 ver.)," which hit number 16 on the Oricon Top 50. Following Mari Takahashi's graduation from the group in 2018, Dorothy Little Happy renewed its lineup, adding Fūka Kurimura, Akina Katō, Kiri Kurokawa, and Nana Takeuchi.
