Mimoun Alaoui, known to his fans as Dú Maroc, was born on August 21, 1985 in the Main metropolis of Frankfurt. Growing up under difficult social conditions, the German rapper of Moroccan descent developed toughness and resilience, which he would later incorporate into his lyrics. Meanwhile, Alaoui's musical career really got rolling in 2012 when his debut album Narkotic, produced in collaboration with fellow MC SadiQ, reached number 53 in Germany. the second album Block Bladi Gentleman followed in 2013, which also entered the German charts (number 57). The same applies to his third album Intravenös (2015), which made it to number 79 in Germany. The hip-hop star, who at no point makes a secret of his criminal past but develops into a socially committed role model over time, also places his fourth LP in the German sales lists: Mocro, released in 2018, reaches number 42 in Germany and also enters the charts in Switzerland (number 76). Singles such as "Casablanca" (feat. Fler & Haftbefehl), released in 2020, also prove that Dú Maroc is now also on the collaboration list of absolute heavyweights in the German rap business. While the track reached number 82 in Germany, Alaoui also released his fifth studio album, Cortado (2020).
