Émile Bilodeau (June 28, 1996) is a Canadian folk singer-songwriter from Québec. A Longueuil native, Bilodeau started playing the drums as a teenager and then switched to guitar, writing his first couple of songs at the age of 16. In 2013, he played St-Ambroise’s Festival de la chanson for the first time, reaching the final and earning two awards for his performance. Following several appearances in music festivals around Québec, where he racked up a considerable number of awards, Bilodeau was signed to Dare to Care Records and released his debut album, Rites de passage, in 2016. Featuring arrangements by composer Philippe B, the album’s use of Québec French resonated with many Quebecers and went gold three years after its release. It also spawned the single “J’en ai plein mon cass,” which entered the Canadian Top 50 at Number 43. More accolades ensued as Bilodeau won Best New Musician at the ADISQ gala and was named Revelation of the Year by Canada’s CBC in 2017. Grandeur Mature, his sophomore effort, arrived in 2019 and featured guest spots by Caroline Savoie (“Candy”) and Klô Pelgag (“Freddie Mercury”).
