Eniah

Born in Istres, France, Eniah, whose real name is Hugo Frezal, grew up in Agadir, Morocco, between market rhythms and family percussion instruments. His musician father introduced him at an early age to the djembe, then the piano, influencing his musical ear. Passionate about hip-hop dance as a teenager, he later founded the Nejma school in Istres. At the age of 14, he began writing, inspired by IAM, Abd Al Malik and Nekfeu. Confinement marked a turning point: he composed some fifty tracks, put together a team and created his own musical identity, Eniah, in homage to the film La Haine. His fourth EP,"Lil", explores the perception of a blind man, inspired by a meeting with a former curator of the Louvre. Eniah mixes poetry, introspection and musicality, between sung rap and storytelling. At the same time, he took part in the Buzz Booster and performed in Istres, paying tribute to his city, his roots and his generation.
