EPEX

Epex, stylized as EPEX, is a South Korean boy band formed by C9 in 2021. The group comprises eight members: Wish (leader, vocalist, dancer), Keum (rapper, dancer), Mu (vocalist), A-Min (vocalist, dancer), Baekseung (rapper), Ayden (rapper), Yewang (vocalist), and Jeff (rapper). The name EPEX stands for "Eight Apex," signifying the collective journey of eight young talents reaching their peaks. Epex presented their debut teaser, "Prelude of Anxiety," on May 7, followed by the release of their debut EP, Bipolar Pt.1: Prelude of Anxiety, featuring the lead single "Lock Down," which charted at number 10 on the Korean music charts. Their second EP, Bipolar Pt.2: Prelude of Love, landed them at number 6 and on April 11, lead single "Anthem of Teen Spirit," was unveiled ahead of third EP, Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 1. '21st Century Boys', which scored the group their first top 5 chart position. Proving to be even more of an unstoppable force, EPEX released "Hymn To Love" ahead of their fourth EP, Prelude of Love Chapter 1. 'Puppy Love', in October which debuted at number 4, winning them the Rookie of the Year award at the 2022 Seoul Music Awards and the group embarked on their first international concert tour, Eight Apex later in the year. Continuing their music journey into 2023, Prelude of Love Chapter 2. 'Growing Pains' emerged in April, reaching a respectable number 6, however it was October release Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 2. 'Can We Surrender?’ that addressed themes surrounding mental health and bullying which resonated with their teenage fanbase, bringing EPEX their highest chart position yet, climbing to number 2 on the Top 100 Albums chart. In December, EPEX collaborated with Japanese boy group Fantastics for the song "Peppermint Yum," releasing an EP in 2024, featuring Japanese and Korean versions of the hit song, which topped the Oricon albums chart in Japan.
