Born Erik Nathan Nieder on September 1, 1989, in Dallas Texas, Erik Nieder is a Christian recording artist and worship leader who has released a variety of folk and pop music across two albums. He began developing a passion for songwriting as a young teenager, before going to study at Texas A&M University, where he was involved with the Baptist Collegiate Ministry, later becoming a worship leader at Watermark Church in Plano, Texas. He marked his professional foray into music with the arrival of his independent debut studio album in 2013, Secret of the Burning Heart, which was released in April that year. A follow-up LP came two years later – worship album Valley of the Shadow – which was also released independently and gave him some success in "Dead Man Walking." The popular song was performed by John Tibbs and Ellie Holcomb and included on the former's 2015 EP Dead Man Walking, which made it onto various Billboard magazine charts. Erik Nieder's first EP emerged the following year, The Narrow Sea, with a second EP, Faithful, surfacing in 2018. A new single, "Reignite" was also released in 2018.
