Pat Barrett is a Dove Award-winning Christian artist who, in additional his solo career, has also enjoyed Top 40 success as a member of the praise and worship band Housefires. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 18, 1984. While attending Grace Midtown Church in his hometown, Barrett co-founded the praise and worship band Housefires, with the church's congregants becoming the band's first fans. Houesfires began building a national audience with the release of Housefires II in 2014, then received renewed attention when "Good Good Father" — a song co-written by Barrett — became a Number 1 hit on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart in 2015. "Good Good Father" also won a GMA Dove Award for "Song of the Year." Several years later, Barrett made his solo debut with the self-titled Pat Barrett, which arrived in 2018 and earned Top 20 hits with "The Way (New Horizon)" and "Better." A third song, "Build My Life," hit Number 1 on both the Christian Airplay and Christian Adult Contemporary charts. His second solo album, Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly, arrived in 2021, reaching number 30 on the Top Christian Albums chart and spawning the Top 40 singles "Canvas and Clay," "Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly," and "Morning By Morning (I Will Trust)." He also appeared on hit songs like Chris Tomlin's "As For Me" and Elevation Worship's "This Is The Kingdom," both of which also cracked the Top 40. After releasing Shelter in 2023, he earned another hit with the album's single "Beautiful Life," which peaked at number 35 on the Top 50 Radio Christian Songs chart in early 2024.
