San Diego, California-born contemporary Christian singer and songwriter Philip David Wickham (April 5, 1984) got his start leading youth worship groups. Encouraged to pen his own praise songs by his parents, he kicked his career into gear in the early '00s, touring around California and recording his first album, Give You My World, which was released in 2003. After signing with Simple Records, he unveiled his self-titled label debut in 2006, followed by his second alum for Simple/INO Records, Cannons, in 2007, which went to Number 16 on the Billboard Christian Albums. His third album, Heaven & Earth, came in November 2009, and he issued his first Christmas album, Songs for Christmas, in 2010 via a digital download on his website. He went on to amass another string of albums, including the critically acclaimed seventh studio album Living Hope and 2021's Hymn of Heaven, which shot to the top of the UK's Christian Albums Chart and was nominated for the Billboard Music Award for Top Christian Album at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. It later won two GMA Dove Awards, for worship album of the year and worship recorded song of the year for its title-track. In 2022, he released an acoustic version of the album, Hymn of Heaven (Acoustic Sessions). In 2023, Philip Wickham embarked on the Summer Worship Nights Tour with Brandon Lake and released the album I Believe, nominated for the Grammy Award of Contemporary Christian Music Album. In 2024 followed Hallelujah! It's Christmas!, featuring collaborations from Anne Wilson, CHPTRS and his older brother Evan Wickham.
