Hailing from Lomé, Togo, rapper Etane Blex, real name Dotse Mawunyegan Kossi, began to be active in the musical sphere in 2011, making a name for himself on the Togolese and West African scene with tracks such as "Forever Young", "Viagra" and "Mepigan", the latter emerging from a debut album of the same name in 2019, which enabled him to break new ground by federating a wider audience. A second album followed in 2022. Entitled Amegan, the 21-track album featured contributions from a host of Togolese artists including Black T, King Mensan, Mic Flammez, the Toofan group, Santrinos Raphaël, Tony X, Kanaa, Olibig, Kiko and Almok, as well as artists from other African countries such as Suspect 95 and the Révolution group (Côte d'Ivoire), Vano Baby and Fanicko (Benin), Tinny and Edem Ayigbé (Ghana) and DJ Spinall from Nigeria.
