Eté & Los Problems is a Uruguayan rock band formed in 2005 and led by singer-songwriter Ernesto Tabárez, who left his corporate job to fully embrace music. The band, featuring Martín Iglesias (guitar), Andrés Coutinho (drums), Iván Krisman (bass and bandoneón), and Bárbara Jorcin (keyboards), debuted with Malditos Banquetes (2007), a raw blend of garage and folk rock, which earned critical acclaim and awards like the Graffiti for Best New Rock Album. Their sophomore effort, Vil (2011), was recorded in a band member’s home and nominated for multiple Graffiti Awards, including Song of the Year for "No sé lo que pasó." The release of El Éxodo (2014) marked a turning point, showcasing a more refined sound and featuring collaborations with Uruguayan music icons like Sebastián Teysera and Garo Arakelian. The album's standout track, "Jordan," became a national hit and won Song of the Year at the 2015 Graffiti Awards. Subsequent releases, including Hambre (2018) and Mudar (2020), continued to evolve their sound. Their sixth album, Plata (2024), solidifies Eté & Los Problems as a cornerstone of Uruguay’s contemporary rock scene, celebrated for their emotive storytelling and dynamic performances.
