Eva Celia – born Eva Celia Lesmana on September 21, 1992 in Jakarta, Indonesia – is a jazz singer, songwriter, guitarist, and actress. She is the daughter of jazz keyboardist and songwriter Indra Lesmana. Although she was influenced by the music she grew up listening to in the Lesmana household, she was never pressured by her father to pursue music as a career. However, she did pursue another form of entertainment: acting. Eva Celia began her career on television soap operas. She made her film debut in 2008 in an Indonesian horror film called Takut: Faces of Fear. After years of acting, she entered the music industry with a Christmas song in 2013 and two singles in 2015: “Reason” and “Against Time”. Her debut album, And So It Begins, was released in 2016. At the 2017 Indonesian Choice Awards, she was nominated for Album of the Year and Female Singer of the Year. In 2019, Eva Celia released the Lifeline: Introduction EP and a series of singles that continued through 2020. In January 2021, she released the single “C.H.R.I.S.Y.E”, a collaboration with Diskoria and Laleilmanino.
