Norwegian pop duo Eva & The Heartmaker consists of Eva Weel Skram and Thomas Stenersen. After meeting in Oslo in 2005, the duo bonded over a mutual love of contemporary pop music. Skram finished sixth in 'Norwegian Idol' in 2005 and following her elimination, Eva & The Heartmaker was born. Their debut album 'Behind Golden Frames' was released in 2006 and introduced the duo to nationwide audiences for the first time. This was the first in a series of critically acclaimed records which established themselves as a household name in their native country. Single 'Superhero', taken from their second album 'Let's Keep This Up Forever' reached number four in the Norwegian Singles Chart, giving the duo their first taste of mainstream commercial success. They continued their ascent into stardom as they were awarded Best Norwegian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2011. In 2013, the single 'Joanna' topped the Norwegian Airplay Charts for several months and was lavished with praised for its infectious pop sensibilities. The duo are now known simply as Eva Weel Skram and elect to sing in their native Norwegian dialect, with focus now on Eva as a bona fide front woman.
