Margaret Edwina Lumsden, born in New South Wales, Australia, is professionally known as Fanny Lumsden, an Australian country music singer and songwriter. Lumsden burst onto the music scene with her debut album, Small Town Big Shot, which arrived in September 2015, earning a nomination for the ARIA Award for Best Country Album at the 2016 ARIA Music Awards. The album produced two singles, "Soapbox" and "Land of Gold" with Lumsden taking out the CMC New OZ Music Artist of the Year award as well as her first Golden Guitar for New Talent of the Year (2017). Later that year, she garnered nominations for three additional Golden Guitars. Her sophomore album, Real Class Act, was released in September 2017, clinching the Best Country Album at the AIR Awards of 2018 and was also nominated for Best Country Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2018. On March 13, 2020, Lumsden released her third studio album titled Fallow, making an impressive debut at number 10 on the charts, earning her the ARIA Award for Best Country Album in 2020, five CMAA Golden Guitar Awards in 2021 (including Album of the Year), and the AIR Award for Best Country Album. In August 2023, Lumsden released her long-awaited fourth album Hey Dawn, once again coming in at number 10.
