Faun is a folk group from Germany. Founded in 1999, the band plays modern, medieval music. The debut album Zaubersprüche was released in 2002, followed by Licht (2003), Renaissance (2005), Totem (2007), Faun Acoustic - Buch der Ballladen (2009) and Eden (2011). Faun's fame increases thanks to numerous concerts at market and medieval festivals. The band signs a record deal with Universal Music. The first album on the new record label is called Von den Elben and is released in 2012. The music becomes more popular overall and also earns the band some TV appearances. As a result, the album makes it into the top 10 of the German charts at number 7 and platinum. It also reaches the top 10 in Austria (9th place) and Switzerland (5th place). The two following albums Luna (2014, number 4 in Germany) and Midgard (2016, number 3 in Germany) also became hits. Between the two releases, Faun took part in the German preliminary round for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in 2015, but failed to qualify. After the best-of album XV - Best Of (2018), another Faun album, Märchen & Mythen, is released in 2019. The band reached number 6 in the German charts. Faun then released a few singles, most recently the song "Neun Welten" (2022).
