Filipe Ret

Filipe Ret, born Filipe Cavaleiro de Macedo da Silva Faria in Rio de Janeiro on June 19, 1985, is a Brazilian rapper, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur celebrated for blending philosophy and poetry with his distinctive style. Growing up in the Catete neighborhood, he began his music career in 2003 through MC battles in Lapa while pursuing a journalism degree. He debuted with Numa Margem Distante in 2009, but his breakthrough came with the 2012 album Vivaz, featuring the hit "Neurótico de Guerra." He co-founded the independent label Tudubom Records, releasing the critically acclaimed Revel in 2015 and concluding his album trilogy with Audaz in 2018. Known for his innovative melodies and reflective lyrics, Filipe Ret’s music frequently explores themes of resilience, ambition, and street philosophy. His 2021 album Imaterial earned triple platinum certification, followed by the equally successful LUME in 2022 and FRXV in 2023. Filipe Ret has collaborated with notable Brazilian artists and achieved multiple gold and platinum certifications, solidifying his position as a leading figure in contemporary Brazilian rap. In 2024, he released NUME, further showcasing his creative evolution and influence in the Brazilian music scene.
