Mãolee, born Henrique Paes Lima, is a Brazilian rapper, DJ, and producer whose career is deeply intertwined with the evolution of national rap. Emerging in 2009 by producing Filipe Ret's debut album Numa Margem Distante, Mãolee became a cornerstone of Brazilian hip-hop with his innovative beats and soulful groove, influenced by icons like Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, and Marcelo D2. His work with Filipe Ret continued to shape the genre through the albums Vivaz (2012), Revel (2015), and Audaz (2018), producing standout tracks like "Neurótico de Guerra" and "Do Yourself," which amassed millions of views. In 2011, Mãolee and Filipe Ret co-founded Tudubom Records, solidifying their influence in the underground and mainstream rap scenes. As a solo artist, Mãolee’s 2018 album Bendito showcased his versatility, blending boom bap, trap, funk, and samba, drawing from his upbringing in Rio de Janeiro's vibrant South Side. His 2023 release "Vem Pra Cá," featuring TZ da Coronel, Delacruz, Tiee, and Tizi Kilates, exemplifies his collaborative prowess and adaptability. The track was included his second full-length, 2024's CONFIA, featuring contributions from Brazilian rap luminaries Filipe Ret, Vulgo FK, L7NNON, Pelé MilFlows, MC Marks, and many more.
