Flipturn

The band, which takes its name from a swimming movement, formed in Fernandina Beach, Florida, in 2015, and at the time included Dillon Basse (vocals), Tristan Duncan (guitar) and Madeline Jarman (bass) as members. After a debut EP entitled Heavy Colors (2017), the trio oscillating between intimate pop and alternative rock produced the album Citrona (2018), buoyed by the tracks "August" and "Hippies". They expand their audience with headlining tours and record the Something You Needed EP, released in 2020. Drummer Adrian Walker, recruited in the meantime, gives way to Devon VonBalson, while the band welcomes Mitch Fountain (keyboards, guitar), for the elaboration of its second album Shadowglow (2022), produced by Jon Gilbert. Signed to Dualtone Records, the band entered the alternative rock charts with the single "Playground", which reached number 38. Flipturn were booked for the Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza festivals, and in between tours, they set about recording their third album, Burnout Days, with producer Chad Copelin. Released in January 2025, it includes the hit "Rodeo Clown", which reached No. 17 in the alternative rock radio charts.
