Singer and rapper Fred de Palma was born Federico Palana in Turin in 1989 and, after taking part in freestyle competitions in both his home city and Milan in 2007, he joined forces with fellow rapper Dirty C to form Royal Rhymes. Having signed with independent record label Trumen Records, the duo began recording and released their self-titled debut album in 2011. This was followed by EP God Save the Royal in 2012. He continued to work as a solo artist releasing FDP in 2012. In 2013, he joined the musical collective Roccia Music and was involved in the creation of the Genesi album in the same year. Another EP with the collective, Lettera al Successo followed in 2014. In 2015, he signed with Warner Music Italy and released BoyFred produced by David Ferrario and Mace. This was followed in 2017 by the second LP for Warner, entitled Hanglover, in which he collaborated with producers including Takagi & Ketra, Davide Ferrario, and Mace. 2018 and 2019 saw him in collaboration with Spanish singer Ana Mena on two singles, "D'Estate Non Vale" and "Una Volta Ancora." Both singles were later included in Fred De Palma's fifth full-length Uebe, released in 2019. Preceded by the Latin-tinged single "Mala" with Lazza, Tony Effe, and JVLI, his first EP PLC Tape 1 appeared in 2022.
