Fredz

Frédéric Carrier (real name), the Canadian rapper better known under the pseudonym Fredz, was born in the Montreal suburb of Longueuil on January 25, 2002. A musician since adolescence, he played guitar before taking up rap in 2019, a path he pursued after university. His pop-and-song-tinged style appeared on listening platforms and social networks with a four-track EP entitled Dans Ma Tête (2019), followed by the album Pas d'Épines, Pas de Rose, which enjoyed growing success during the Covid-19 pandemic. Known for his freestyle exercises, the French rapper and performer multiplied his virally successful tracks over the following years, including "Plume" and "À ce qu'il paraît" (#146 on the SNEP chart in France), taken from the album Personne Ne Touche le Ciel (2020). After several other new releases in 2021, "3 accords", from the album Astronaute (2022), catches the eye at #41 on the Canadian Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. The first-time rapper tours French-speaking Europe and contributes to LauCarré's album En Bas de Chez Moi. He continues to produce his own homemade tracks in 2023, including "Ce soir (j'suis dans ma tête)" and "Le Stade", which anticipate the album Demain Il Fera Beau (2024), ranked #141 in France.
